Amanda McAbee is a highly accomplished financial professional with over 15 years of experience in both public and private sector accounting. As the Finance Director of Decide DeKalb Development Authority, Amanda plays a critical role in managing the organization’s financial operations and investment strategies to drive economic development in DeKalb County.
In her leadership role, Amanda is responsible for the financial oversight of financing tools that support the Authority’s initiatives, including brownfields revolving loans, tax allocation districts (TADs) and tax incentives. She has an administrative role in helping to jumpstart Decide DeKalb’s Small Business Revolving Loan Fund, ensuring local entrepreneurs have access to capital to grow their businesses.
With a strong background in financial reporting, auditing, and compliance, Amanda brings extensive expertise to her role. Prior to joining Decide DeKalb, she held senior financial positions at Muller & Monroe Asset Management, the Regional Transportation Authority in Chicago, and Old Republic Insurance Company. Her experience spans corporate finance, fund accounting, and regulatory compliance, equipping her with the skills necessary to navigate the complexities of economic development finance.
Amanda is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of Mississippi. She is a dedicated servant leader in her community and an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., where she previously served as Financial Secretary. Passionate about economic empowerment and community development, Amanda is committed to leveraging her financial acumen.
