DeKalb County includes the eastern part of Atlanta and part of the county is less than two miles from the city center, making travel convenient and easy. The county is accessible through Interstates 20, 85, 675, and 285, along with several rail lines and 10 different MARTA rail stations. Additionally, Peachtree DeKalb Airport (PDK) is the second busiest in the state, only behind the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

DeKalb County is home to 13 higher education institutions and their campuses, including Emory University, Georgia State University, Mercer University, and Georgia Piedmont Technical College. Emory is Georgia’s top ranked university, and around 40% of graduates stay in the Atlanta Metropolitan area. Georgia Piedmont Technical College has a 99% job placement rate and is one of Georgia’s top workforce training institutions.
