He is a partner in the finance group at Alston & Bird, LLP, representing both financial institutions and corporate borrowers in various corporate finance transactions. Such dealings include syndicated credit facilities, acquisition financings, notes offerings, asset-based financings and restructuring transactions.
For the last five years, Gooch has developed an expertise in complex problem loan workouts and restructurings. He advises numerous clients in modifying the terms of nonperforming loans and selling certain distressed debt which commercial real estate secures.
Gooch also has developed an expertise in finance transactions involving health care companies, closing multiple deals for a lender with a primary focus on making loans to such companies.
Gooch has worked on more than $15 billion in financing and restructuring transactions.
The Emory University graduate earned his law degree from the University of Georgia. Gooch was the recipient of Atlanta Business Chronicle's "40 Under 40 Award" distinction in 2015.
