Decide DeKalb Development Authority is seeking a savvy Social Media Marketing Intern. This isn’t a fetching coffee and do-your-homework type of internship. We want you to jump right in and be a part of our team from day one by brainstorming campaigns, sharing your ideas, researching trends and audience demographics, preparing editorial calendars, scheduling content, and reporting the results. We’re looking for someone curious about consumer behavior, storytelling, and community engagement. The ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple short and long-term tasks and passionate about social media to stay up to date with all the latest trends. The intern will also learn how social media fits into the larger branding, marketing, and communications ecosystem.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the build-out of a social media strategy.
- Conduct market research.
- Draft monthly social media content calendars.
- Write, design, and shoot social media posts.
- Analyze and report on data and campaigns.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a paid internship position paying $12 per hour with no additional benefits. The internship will last approximately 12 weeks with the intern expected to work 20-25 hours a week.
Skills and expertise:
- Must be an enrolled undergraduate or graduate student, preferably studying digital marketing, media communications, or public relations.
- Knowledge of social platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn
- Excellent writing and grammar skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Manages multiple short and long-term tasks.
- Passionate about new social tools and trends.
- Working knowledge of Google Analytics, Hoot Suite, Loomly, Photoshop, and Premiere
