Quick
Start is an innovative economic development program
designed to meet the needs of companies relocating and
expanding in Georgia. Quick Start is nationally recognized
for providing high-quality training services at not
cost to qualified companies. Since 1967, Quick Start
has trained more than 325,000 employees for more than
3,100 businesses and industries.
Quick Start training is performance based and cost
effective. The program offers flexible scheduling, industry-based
instructors, customized training materials and access
to retraining tax credits.
Some of the elements of Quick Start training as identified

TRAINING NEED ANALYSIS
Quick Start specialists conduct an in-depth analysis
of the jobs within the company, examine its needs and
develop recommendations for training.
DETAILED TRAINING PLAN
This document offers a description of the training services
and training schedule that will be custom-designed to
meet the company's needs.
HIGH-QUALITY TRAINING
Quick Start uses advanced instructional technologies
to create programs tailored to the company. For example,
it offers computer-based training, interactive multimedia,
award winning corporate and industrial video productions,
and a mobile automated manufacturing training lab that
brings programmable logic controller (PLC) training
to the site.
EXPERT TRAINING STAFF
In addition to its instructors, Quick Start has specialist
in manufacturing and business technologies, instructional
designers, computer experts, video production technicians,
graphic designers, and other professionals who create
and deliver the best training in the country.

DeKalb Technical College is the network of 83 Georgia
technical colleges and four universities through which
Quick Start is delivered. DeKalb Tech's Certified Economic
Development Trainer (DEDT) works with industries to
develop and deliver Quick Start and other quality training
programs in Continuing Education. After Quick Start
goals are met, their services of DeKalb Tech's CEDT
continue to be available to county employers. The school
offers workforce certification programs including the
Certified Customer Service Specialist and Certified
Manufacturing Specialist.
