BUSINESS EVENTS CALENDAR NOW ONLINE
FREE CLASSES, SEMINARS TO HELP ENTREPRENEURS
April 22, 2008
DECATUR
Small business owners and entrepreneurs now have another resource to stay profitable in an ever changing global economy. The DeKalb Office of Economic Development is announcing a new online calendar of informative classes, seminars and events for small business owners in DeKalb County.
The Business Events Calendar was one of the first priorities of the Entrepreneur Friendly Committee, originally convened by DeKalb Chief Executive Officer Vernon Jones, to identify and address the needs of small business owners.
“Small business is big business in DeKalb County, as ninety-one percent (91%) of all companies are classified as ‘small business’,” said CEO Jones. “This Business Events Calendar levels the playing field for small business, giving them more tools to stay competitive.”

Dr. Eugene P. Walker, chairman of the Development Authority of DeKalb County says that events from several DeKalb County offices and organizations are represented, including the DeKalb Office of Contract Compliance, the DeKalb Public Library System, the DeKalb Extension Office, the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and others. “The general criteria for all events are that it must benefit entrepreneurs and small business operators in DeKalb County through a government office or a non-profit organization,” said Walker. |
