Local companies. Global impact.

For nearly four decades Ricoh USA has maintained a presence within DeKalb County. During this time they've expanded operations to 500 personnel who support the local Tucker community both professionally and personally. Recently, Bruce Nelson, Director of Customer Care Support Services took some time to reflect on this long history.

Decide DeKalb: With your company’s history in DeKalb County what is it about our business climate that “works” for Ricoh?

Bruce Nelson: Ricoh has been a part of the Dekalb community since 1978, and Tucker was the corporate HQ for Lanier Worldwide until 2008, when Lanier became part of Ricoh. Our 4667 North Royal location in Atlanta started as a parts warehouse, and has transformed into Ricoh’s National Support Center for the United States, Canada and Latin America. Ricoh employs approximately 500 people within Dekalb and supports Ricoh’s service organization nationally with technical support across various disciplines, including engineering, research and design. Our dedicated employees  work as part of the community in many ways, including local fundraisers, school events and charitable partnerships. Most recently, Ricoh was recognized by the American Cancer Society for raising more than $35,000 in a local golf fundraiser at Heritage Golf Course. Dekalb is a great partner, and we are proud to be part of the local community.

Decide DeKalb: How has your company’s business focus/operations adapted to the ever-changing economy to remain successful?

Bruce Nelson: Innovation is one of Ricoh’s core values, and is the essence of our tagline Imagine.Change. Collaboration is a major focus for our employees as we work together to meet our customers’ constantly changing business challenges. Many of our employees hold industry certifications, including Net+ and A+.

Decide DeKalb: Considering Ricoh’s connection to Decide DeKalb…what assistance/services or are you most excited about?

Bruce Nelson: Working with Decide DeKalb is truly a collaborative experience. The Decide DeKalb team is open to and implements feedback in their training and recruitment programs. As a major employer in the area, it’s reassuring to know we have a partner like Decide DeKalb to help us identify and attract the right talent – locally.
